New Delhi: According to the big news of the morning, from today people above 18 years of age in the country will be given a free booster dose of the corona vaccine. Yes, this Maha Abhiyan will be started from today i.e. 15th July, and will run for the next 75 days. According to the information received, this essential vaccine can be taken free of cost for 75 days in all government hospitals in the country from today.
It is noteworthy that a campaign is being run under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on the occasion of 75 years of India’s independence with the aim of increasing awareness about the precautionary doses of Kovid. At the same time, an official source said that so far less than 1% of the 77 crores eligible population of 18 to 59 years have been given a precautionary dose.

However, about 160 million people over the age of 60 and about 26 percent of health workers and frontline workers have already taken booster doses. In fact, studies conducted at the ICMR and other international research institutes have shown that antibody levels begin to drop in about six months after taking two initial doses of the vaccine, and immunity increases with booster doses.
It may be noted that the Union Health Ministry last week reduced the interval between the second and precautionary dose of the Covid vaccine for all from nine months to six months. This was done on the recommendation of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization.
