New Delhi: After banning 59 apps of Chinese companies, the government on Tuesday asked them to strictly follow this order and warned them to take strict action if they violate it. According to official sources, strict action has been warned against violating the order in any way. On 29 June, the government banned 59 apps, including China-affiliated TikTok, CamScanner, and UC Browser. He said that this app is a threat to the sovereignty, integrity, and security of the country.
The Ministry of Information Technology has written a letter to all these companies warning that the availability and continued operation of these banned apps in any form directly or indirectly is not only illegal but a crime punishable under the Information Technology Act and other related provisions. If any app included in the banned list is made available directly or indirectly for use in India by any other means, it would be considered a violation of the government order. He said that all these companies are instructed to strictly follow the orders of the Ministry and strict action will be taken if they do not do so.
In a communication sent to these companies, the ministry said that this prohibition has been imposed using Sovereign powers and Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. Companies have been asked to ensure strict compliance of orders issued in this context.
