Johannesburg: Team India could not start well in the second test. The team was all out on the first day of the match (India vs South Africa) on Monday after scoring just 202 runs in the first innings. This is the team’s second-lowest score in the first innings of the field. Off-spinner R Ashwin played an important inning for the team. He played an innings of 46 runs. The team had suffered a major setback before the match. Captain Virat Kohli is not playing this match. He had trouble with his back. KL Rahul is captaining. The Indian team is leading 1-0 in the three-match series.
KL Rahul decided to bat first in difficult conditions. Together with Mayank Agarwal, he batted carefully in the first hour. Agarwal (26) looked in a very good rhythm in the first hour and he hit 5 fours. However, he was dismissed while trying to drive a ball moving outside the off-side of Marco Jensen. After this, Cheteshwar Pujara, who landed once again, was seen struggling to score runs. He looked uncomfortable against bouncing balls and was eventually dismissed on a similar delivery by Dunane Olivier. He scored 3 runs in 33 balls. He failed the first test as well.
Rahane is out for a golden duck
Ajinkya Rahane tried to tamper with the very first ball outside the off-stump of Olivier and became the 50th victim of the fast bowler in the 11th Test. Keegan Pietersen took his easy catch at slips. Rahane got the golden duck. Rahul and Hanuma Vihari (20) then took the innings forward. Kagiso Rabada dismissed Vihari. After this, Rahul also looked uncomfortable on a few occasions against the short balls. He completed the 13th half-century in 128 balls with fours on Rabada and then a run on Ngidi. Soon after completing his half-century, Rahul caught Rabada on the boundary in an attempt to pull the ball outside Jenson’s off-side.
Jasprit Bumrah scored an unbeaten 14 to take the score beyond 200 runs. The team got out after scoring 202 runs in 63.1 overs. Marco Jensen took a maximum of 4 wickets. Apart from this, Dunane Olivier and Kagiso Rabada took 3-3 wickets.
