Disclosure in government report, 50% of cases of Omicron taken both doses of vaccine

New Delhi: Omicron, a new variant of Coronavirus, has become a cause of concern for the whole world including India. The increasing cases of Omicron Cases in India have also intensified the possibility of a third wave of Covid in the country. Meanwhile, government data regarding Omicron in India has made a shocking disclosure. According to the information, about 50 percent of Omicron cases were such that they were fully vaccinated. According to the data, out of 183 people infected with Omicron, 87 people, or about 50 percent, were fully vaccinated.

Concluding on the basis of this report, health officials said that vaccine alone is not enough to stop this new form of Covid. For its prevention, along with increased surveillance, the use of masks is very important.

On Friday, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan released an analysis of 183 Omicron cases detected in India. Out of these cases, the vaccination status of 96 people was known. Of these, 87 such people had come under the grip of Omicron, who had been given both doses of the vaccine. Surprisingly, three of these people got infected with Omicron who were also given a booster shot.

According to the Health Secretary, 73 of these were people whose vaccination was not known, while 16 people were not eligible for vaccination. At the same time, 18 people who were infected with Omicron did not have a travel history. Bhushan said that out of 165 people, 27 percent had no history of foreign travel which indicates community transmission.


ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava said that the analysis of clinical symptoms shows that 70 percent of Omicron patients are asymptomatic. About a third of the Omicron cases detected in India so far have mild symptoms, while the rest do not show any symptoms.
