
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Law and Order ADG Prashant Kumar addressed a press conference regarding two al-Qaeda terrorists arrested from Lucknow. Giving information during this, he said, “Two terrorists belonging to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind of Al-Qaeda have been arrested. Weapons cache, explosive material have been recovered. They were planning to shake the state before 15th August.
ADG said that this organization backed by Al Qaeda is being run by a terrorist named Omar Salt. Which is continuously operating from Peshawar and Quetta of Pakistan.
Prashant Kumar said that the ATS has arrested Minhaj Ahmed, a resident of Dubagga, Lucknow, and Masiruddin, a resident of Maniyan, an active member of Al Qaeda-backed ‘Ansar Ghazwatul Hind’. Explosive material has been recovered from both of them.
He told that these people with the help of their associates on the instructions of Al Qaeda’s Uttar Pradesh module chief Umar Halmandi, on August 15, various cities of Uttar Pradesh, especially Lucknow’s important places, monuments, and crowded areas, exploded and human bombs, etc. were preparing to carry out terrorist incidents. Weapons and explosives were also deposited for this.

Kumar told that his other accomplices from Lucknow and Kanpur are also involved in this gang. Raids are being conducted by other teams at various places to search for other associates of these terrorists. According to the Additional Director General of Police, during interrogation, these people have told that their associates have run away from the house. In this regard, the ATS team has started a thorough investigation with the cooperation of the local police.
He said that a case was being registered in the ATS police station and both these persons would be produced in the court and information about them and their other accomplices would be obtained by taking them on police remand, he said.
