But something happened there that has raised serious questions about the BJP itself. On the other hand, the opposition parties have also found a new issue to exploit.
In fact, after Nitin Nabin was unanimously elected as the BJP’s national president, a grand coronation ceremony was organized at the party office in Delhi. महामानव जैसे ही आए , BJP के पहली पंक्ति सारे नेता उनके सामने हाँथ जोड़ लिए , लेकिन योगी आदित्यनाथ चुपचाप खड़े रहे!

What is the whole matter?
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the BJP headquarters, the Chief Ministers and leaders of other states sitting in the front row greeted him with folded hands. However, Yogi Adityanath, who was standing at the end of the row, did not greet him. As soon as the video of this incident surfaced, a new political controversy erupted, and various discussions began.
Modi vs. Yogi in the BJP?
Rashtriya Janata Dal spokesperson Priyanka Bharti posted this video on ‘X’ and launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party. He wrote, “Look closely. As soon as the ‘great leader’ arrived, all the top BJP leaders folded their hands in front of him, but Yogi Adityanath stood silently!
Priyanka Bharti further wrote that the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party is there by Modi ji’s will! The Uttar Pradesh BJP President is there by Modi ji’s will! Is the Modi vs. Yogi rivalry now coming out in the open? Many others are also sharing this video on social media with similar claims.
Similar video surfaced before
This is not the first time such a video of Yogi Adityanath has surfaced. Earlier, in July 2024, a similar video went viral during an event. At that time, too, opposition parties made it an issue. But later it was revealed that the video was misleading due to different camera angles. Because in the video recorded from another camera, CM Yogi is seen accepting greetings with folded hands.
Why does this cause a stir?
In political circles, Yogi Adityanath is considered the strongest contender for the Prime Minister’s post in the Bharatiya Janata Party after Narendra Modi. In many discussions, Amit Shah is also considered his rival. Amit Shah is closer to PM Modi. This is why whenever such a picture surfaces, it creates a political uproar.
The incident highlights the underlying tensions within the BJP’s top leadership as the party navigates questions of succession and future leadership. With Nitin Nabin’s elevation as party president, the ceremony was meant to showcase unity, but the Yogi-Modi interaction has instead exposed potential fissures that opposition parties are quick to exploit. The recurring nature of such videos, whether misleading or genuine, points to the intense scrutiny on the relationship between India’s current Prime Minister and his potential successors.
