New Delhi: A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale struck the Delhi-NCR region on Wednesday afternoon, causing widespread tremors from Uttar Pradesh to Kashmir. The earthquake’s impact was felt across Haryana, Punjab, and extended to Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The National Center for Seismology reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Pakistan, approximately 415 kilometers west of Amritsar in Punjab. The tremors were felt at 12:58 PM, shaking the ground in several regions.

Residents in North India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir, experienced the tremors. In Pakistan, cities such as Peshawar, Islamabad, and Lahore also felt the earthquake’s impact. The tremors reached as far as Afghanistan, adding to the widespread nature of the event.
