Agencies: slump in Asian shares extended to its fourth day and oil tumbled over growing concerns that a resurgence of coronavirus infections could stunt the pace of recovery from lockdowns.

Japan’s Nikkei-225 Index declined 0.8 per cent and Singapore’s Straits times fell 0.7 per cent. South Korea’s KOSPI plunged two per cent. China’s Shanghai Composite index remained almost flat while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng lost 0.7 per cent.

On the other hand, European markets were up in intra-day trade. London’s FTSC-100 and Germany’s DAX, both, gained one per cent while France’s CAC zoomed 1.9 per cent.
