New Delhi: The Ministry of Health said on Tuesday that the new type of coronavirus spreading in Britain is not affecting the severity of the disease nor is it increasing mortality. The Ministry said that there is no need to worry about it, rather it needs to be closely monitored. In the weekly press conference of the Ministry of Health, Dr. VK Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, said that new strains of coronavirus seen in Britain have not been found in India yet.
Paul told that this new type of virus is going to infect people fast. He said that this does not affect the seriousness of the case and the possibility of death. According to him, this will not make people very sick but it can make more people sick. On the new form of the virus in Britain, Dr. VK Paul said that this mutation has increased the transmissibility of the virus from one person to another, it is also said that transmissibility has increased by 70%.
Our situation is better than in other countries
Paul said that there is an increasing problem in many countries regarding the coronavirus. Cases have increased in Europe and many countries have imposed lockdowns. In this way, we find ourselves in very good condition.
Highlighting the current state of the coronavirus in the country, the Secretary of the Health Ministry said that it has happened after about five and a half months that there are less than three lakh active cases in India. Currently, only 3 percent of the total cases in India are active cases.
Rajesh Bhushan said that in the last seven weeks there has been a steady decline in new daily cases. He said that the recovery rate in India is more than 95 percent. The Health Secretary said that 57 percent of the total cases reported in the last 24 hours have come from Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Kerala. 61 percent of the deaths have occurred in UP, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Kerala, West Bengal and Maharashtra.
