New Delhi: The demand for compact SUVs is high across the world, and India is no exception. Many companies are introducing their compact SUVs in the market, catering to the needs of urban and rural customers. These cars are ideal for small families, as they offer comfort, space, and features along with excellent mileage and performance. Some of the popular compact SUVs in the country are Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos. Honda is also ready to enter this segment with its SUV Elevate, which will be launched on September 4. However, the car that started the trend of compact SUVs in India is set to make a comeback with a new engine and a new design. It is none other than Renault Duster.
Renault Duster was once the best-selling compact SUV in India, but it lost its charm over time. Now, Renault has revamped the Duster with a new 1.5-liter petrol engine that can also run in hybrid mode. The new Duster is expected to be launched in 2024 and will offer a mileage of more than 25 kilometers per liter. The Duster will also have an automatic transmission and a manual gearbox option. It may also have a 4×4 option, which will make it the first car in the current compact SUV segment to offer four-by-four.
The new Duster will also have amazing features and a premium interior. It will have an infotainment system that can be connected to Android Auto and Apple Car Play, 8 airbags, leather finish seats, a digital driver display, electrically adjustable seats, hill hold, and descent control, ABS, EBD, 360-degree camera, ADAS, and many more features.
The price of the new Duster is not yet revealed by Renault, but it is estimated to be between 10 lakhs to 18 lakh rupees. Renault will launch various variants of the Duster, ranging from budget to premium category. There are also rumors of an electric variant of the Duster. Renault may also launch Duster EV along with the petrol Duster.
Renault is also working on updating its three other cars – Kwid, Triber, and Kaigar. All these three cars may get better features and some changes in the engine. These three updates are also likely to be launched in 2024. However, Renault has not disclosed what major changes will be made to these three cars.
