Rudraprayag: Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand since late Thursday night. Two to three shops were damaged due to the landslide in Gaurikund. According to the information being received, there is also information about the casualties of 10 to 12 people in the debris. Due to the continuous falling of boulders from the hill, there are problems in the rescue operation. Along with the district administration team, disaster management, SDRF, and DDRF teams are also present on the spot.

Significantly, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rains in the state from today. An orange alert has been issued for heavy rains in 7 districts of Uttarakhand. There is a warning of heavy rain in Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri, Nainital, Pauri, Uttarkashi, and Chamoli. The Meteorological Department has sent an advisory to all the districts asking them to be alert.
