New Delhi: On one hand, given the Corona crisis, research around the world is in full swing regarding the Corona Vaccine. At the same time, only 3 vaccines in India alone are at an advanced level. Citing this, Dr. Suresh Jadhav, executive director of Serum Institute (SII), has said that 20 to 30 crore vaccine doses will be ready in India by the end of December, and by March 2021 the final test of the vaccine will also be completed.

Actually, while addressing a Pharma Excellence e Summit 2020 organized by HEAL Foundation, Dr. Suresh Jadhav, Executive Director of Serum Institute of India (SII), citing that statement of SII CEO Adar Poonawala, said that Serum (SII) is an upcoming It can produce 70 to 80 million vaccine doses in a year. With this, he can also increase the production of the corona vaccine but it will take some time. Dr. Jadhav further said that India is fortunate that so far three big pharma companies are engaged in the manufacturing Corona vaccine. The clinical trial of 2 of these is now in the third stage while the trial of the third company has reached the second stage.

What Dr. Suresh Jadhav said:

  • By the end of December in India, 20 to 30 million vaccine doses will be ready.
  • By March 2021, the vaccine final test will also be completed.
  • Three big pharma companies were involved in the manufacture of Corona vaccine.
  • Results of clinical trials of the third stage by mid-December this year.
  • This result will be presented to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for license.
  • The Indian government gave permission to make it in bulk even before the completion of the final trial.
  • It will save time or else it takes 7 to 8 months to come to the drug market.
  • Along with this, Dr. Suresh Jadhav said that it usually takes 8 to 10 years for any vaccine to come to the market. But this type of vaccine is needed in India as soon as possible. That is why it is expected to come to the market soon. This happened twice before when the vaccine was required in India twice.

When this happened:

During the H1N1 vaccine that came in June and July 2009, multinational pharma companies had prepared the vaccine by December 2009 and launched it with a license.
Thus, the Ebola vaccine was also launched when the second phase of the trial of the product was going on.
In this way, Dr. Suresh Jadhav told that by the end of December, India will have 20-30 million doses of the Covid vaccine. At the same time, once licensed by DCGI, the production will be around 6 to 7 crores of vaccine production every month. Along with this, according to Dr. Suresh Jadhav, Serum Institute is currently working on 5 different products simultaneously to combat the risk of the corona.
