Tadepalli: The under-construction central office of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), led by former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, faced demolition in a dramatic turn of events. The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and the Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) carried out the demolition, sparking controversy and accusations of revenge politics.
The High Court Ban and Defiance
Despite the High Court’s order prohibiting any demolition, the bulldozers moved in, reducing the YSRCP office to rubble. The party had sought legal intervention, emphasizing the court’s directive, but the authorities pressed ahead. The reason cited was alleged unauthorized construction on land owned by the irrigation department.
Echoes of Past Vendettas
This incident isn’t isolated. In September 2023, during Jaganmohan Reddy’s tenure, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu faced arrest by the CID on corruption charges. Naidu’s own residence, the ‘Praja Vedika,’ met a similar fate when it was demolished. Now, as the TDP returns to power, the YSRCP office suffered a bulldozer assault, raising questions about a cycle of revenge in Andhra Pradesh politics.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Strong Stand
Former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy minced no words, labeling the demolition an act of dictatorship. “A dictator bulldozed the nearly completed YSRCP central office at Tadepalli,” he asserted. “Law and justice have completely disappeared in the state,” Reddy vowed that the YSRCP would not yield to threats or cowardice, urging fellow democrats to condemn these actions.
