Manila: Hurricane Philippine Typhoon Vamco continues to wreak havoc in the Philippines. The National Disaster Agency said on Sunday that the typhoon had wreaked havoc in the Philippines. So far, 67 people have lost their lives due to this storm.
The death toll could rise further, the agency said. Meanwhile, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has said that 12 people are missing due to cyclonic storms in the country this year.
It is learned that it has been raining heavily in different parts of the Philippines since Wednesday night due to Hurricane Vamko. Landslides have also decreased in many places due to heavy rains. Many areas have been inundated due to rains. At present the rescue work is in progress. In the northern provinces of the country, after the rains, food and clean drinking water are being delivered to the flood victims.
The President inspected the affected areas
Let me tell you that two provinces of the Philippines experienced flood conditions on Sunday. Many areas were submerged. People have taken refuge in at least 12,000 centers in the city of Alkala. On the other hand, some citizens have refused to leave their homes even during the floods. These people have taken shelter on the roof of the house. Many people are missing, who are being searched.
Here, President Rodrigo Duterte conducted an aerial inspection to take stock of the affected areas. He said that the local administration has been asked to be ready for all possible help to the victims. “The safety of the victims is our top priority,” he said. President Duterte has assured the victims and others that the government is committed to providing relief goods and financial assistance. The government will not back down in helping the victims.
