Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal has spearheaded this innovative approach, mandating a comprehensive training program for all police personnel. The curriculum is designed to imbue officers with a deep understanding of the ‘no touch policy’, ensuring respectful interactions, and imparting detailed knowledge of the city’s significant spiritual landmarks.
The influx of devotees, numbering in the lakhs, has prompted this novel strategy to ensure a seamless and enriching pilgrimage. Officers will undergo a rigorous three-day training course, equipping them with the skills necessary to address the needs of the faithful effectively. A specialized protocol has also been established for the sanctum sanctorum of Baba Vishwanath. To manage the dense crowds and ensure that each devotee can partake in the darshan of the Shivalinga, a discreet team of uniformed and plainclothes officers will be stationed strategically.
