Lashkar-e-Taiba module busted in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Two modules of Lashkar-e-Taiba in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir were busted and five associates of terrorists were arrested. This information was given by the police on Sunday. Acting on a specific input, the police along with the security forces arrested four associates of the terrorists in the North Kashmir district, a police spokesman said.

They identified them as Irfan Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Ashtangu, Irfan Ahmed Jan, a resident of Kazipora, Sajjad Ahmad Mir, and Shariq Ahmed Mir, a resident of the Arin area of ​​Bandipora. The spokesman said that two Chinese grenades and other items were recovered from them. He said that preliminary investigation revealed that they were involved in providing mobile SIM cards and logistics support to the terrorists operating in the district. The spokesperson said that a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered and further investigation is on in the matter.

In another incident, police along with security forces arrested an accomplice of terrorists at a check post in the Rakh Hajin area of ​​Bandipora. The spokesman said that he has been identified as Irfan Aziz Bhat, a resident of Hajin. He said that a Chinese grenade was recovered from him.

The spokesman said that preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested accused was in close contact with Pakistani terrorist Umar Lala and was directed to carry out terror attacks in the Hajin area. He said Bhat had also been in touch with Hajin’s slain terrorist Salim Parre. Police said that a case has been registered and further investigation is on in the matter.
