New Delhi: The New York Police has made complete preparations for the possible surrender of former President Donald Trump to prosecutors on Tuesday. According to media reports, the police have done metal barricading around Trump Tower. In addition, roads near the Manhattan Criminal Court have been blocked. The former president is to be produced at the courthouse on Tuesday afternoon.

Explain that the allegation of paying a porn star on Trump has been proven. A grand jury investigation approved an indictment against him. In such a situation, he is the first former US President to face criminal charges.

Top supporters, including Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, say they will travel to New York on Tuesday to protest. A court official said the downtown courthouse, home to the criminal and supreme courts, will close some courts ahead of Trump’s expected appearance.

No credible threat to the city
The New York Police Department (NYPD) said there was no credible threat to the city regarding the possible surrender of the former president. According to the Sight Intelligence group, which monitors online extremism, some social media users have called for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the jury that charged Trump to be hanged.

After Trump falsely claimed to have won the previous election, his supporters stormed the US Capitol building on January 6, 2021, sparking a deadly riot. However, many Trump supporters have warned against public demonstrations online. Trump has also invoked them. But, they can be arrested.

The NYPD said in a statement, “The department stands ready to take action when necessary and ensure that everyone can exercise their rights peacefully.” Trump is expected to fly from Florida to New York on Monday and spend the night at Trump Tower before arriving in court on Tuesday morning, a Trump adviser said.

It is not clear how many people will reach
While the spectacle of the former president facing criminal charges was certain to attract massive media attention, it is not yet clear whether his presence will attract large numbers of protesters. While Trump is a native New Yorker, he did not receive much of the vote in his hometown – 23% of the city voted for him in 2020 and 18% in 2016.

A court official told that Trump is expected to reach the court at 2:15 pm. Courtrooms on the upper floors of the courthouse will close at 1 p.m., shortly before this. The official also said that many court cases would be adjourned to a building across the street from the courthouse.
