Washington: A suspected Chinese spy balloon flying over the US western state of Montana was finally shot down on the instructions of President Biden. Regarding this, a question is arising in everyone’s mind after several denials, what happened that the US government was forced to shoot down the Chinese balloon? According to a Bloomberg report, President Biden had hidden the news of this Chinese balloon from the people for a long time. However, after some time, the administration confirmed in front of the media that this Chinese surveillance balloon had flown over the sensitive US Ballistic Missiles sites.
Since the news came in the media, the opposition party Republicans were continuously attacking Joe Biden for taking a soft stand towards China. In such a situation, looking at the dent in the 2024 elections, Joe Biden decided to bring down the balloon. However, before that, the US administration had sought an explanation from the Chinese Embassy, which did not satisfy the investigating agency. Meanwhile, the balloon was flying eastward over the continental US, heading toward Washington. Former CIA officer Wilder told that the balloon was not going away. Also, China had no way left to take it back.
By Saturday afternoon, the US had clearly indicated it was taking matters into its own hands as the balloon moved away from the ground, hours after US warplanes shot it down off the South Carolina coast.
