He also stated that an application would soon be made for permission to use Covishield in an emergency. This clearly means that vaccine production is at an advanced stage. Adar Poonawala said that we are in the process of applying in the next 2 weeks for permission to use Covishield in emergency. He said that zero hospitalization is a big thing during the trial. This vaccine will first be distributed in India. He said that by July 2021, about 30-40 crore doses of this vaccine will be made available.

He stayed in this institute for about an hour. Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Director of Serum Institute of Pune Dia, Dr. Cyrus Poonawala, Chief Executive Officer Adar Poonawala, Executive Director Natasha Poonawala, Scientists and senior officers of the concerned department were present. The Prime Minister then inspected the work being done at the Serum Institute of India in connection with the production of Kovid-19 preventive vaccine. At this time, the scientists told him about the preparations for the vaccination efforts, the challenges.

30-40 crore doses will be available by July
As per the information of Poonawala, 5-6 crore doses are being made per month in the institution. 100 million doses will be made after January. Efforts will be made to reach as many people as possible. This vaccine will be made available to the people at low prices. According to Poonawala, our focus is on the outcome of the third trial. In coordination with the government, information regarding its distribution will be given soon. Poonawala claimed that 60% of people would not need to go to the hospital with this vaccine.

Asudani, Director General of Police Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta, District Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh did. From here he went straight to the Serum Institute by helicopter. When his helicopter was over the Serum Institute, a large number of locals had gathered around to see him.
