New Delhi: The State Bank of India (SBI) has taken a significant leap forward in digital banking by introducing a comprehensive suite of services accessible via WhatsApp. This innovative move allows customers to enjoy a plethora of banking services with the convenience of their favorite messaging app. Here’s an expanded look at the new services and how to get started:

Getting Started with SBI WhatsApp Banking

To activate SBI’s WhatsApp banking, customers must first register their mobile number. This is done by sending an SMS with the format ‘WAREG [Account Number]’ to 7208933148 from the mobile number linked to the SBI account. For instance, ‘WAREG 123456789’. Upon successful registration, customers should save the number +919022690226 on their mobile device.

Engaging with SBI’s WhatsApp Services

After saving the contact, customers can initiate the service by sending a ‘Hi’ message to the saved number. In response, SBI’s automated system will present three options:

  1. Get Balance
  2. Get Mini Statement
  3. Access Other Services

Customers can select the desired option to proceed with their banking queries.
