One of the dead has been identified as Kuldeep Singh (24). Meanwhile, a four-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police to investigate the case.

Giving information about the case, DGP Dinkar Gupta said that the first five deaths took place on the night of 29th June at Tarsika, a police station in Amritsar, from Muchhal and Tangra. On the evening of 30 July, two more people were killed in suspicious circumstances in Muchhal, while one person was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

Capt Amarind Singh tweeted and wrote, “I have ordered a magisterial inquiry into the deaths of poisonous liquor in Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran. The commissioner, Jalandhar Division will investigate and coordinate with the concerned SSP and other officials. Whoever is found guilty He will not be spared. “

While investigating this case, the police arrested a woman. According to reports, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has also expressed his displeasure over the matter and directed the police to launch a search operation to crack down on any brewing units operating in the state.
