  1. Expanded Special Invitees: The government has expanded the number of special invitees from five to eleven. Notably, five ministers from the BJP’s allies now have a seat at the table. These include:

  • Jitan Ram Manjhi (HAM), focuses on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
  • Rajiv Ranjan Singh (JD-U), contributing insights into Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.
  • K. R. Naidu (TDP), with a background in Civil Aviation.
  • Chirag Paswan (LJP-Ram Vilas), representing Food Processing Industries.
  1. Ex-Officio Members: While the special invitees add diversity, the core composition remains stable. The ex-officio members include:
  • Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the Agriculture and Rural Development Minister, is now an ex-officio member.
  • Jagat Prakash Nadda, the Health Minister, joined as a special invitee.
  • Nitin Gadkari, H. D. Kumaraswamy, and Jitan Ram Manjhi were also included as special invitees.
  • Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Nirmala Sitharaman continue as ex-officio members.
Modi Government Reorganizes NITI Aayog
  1. Leadership Continuity: Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the Chairperson of NITI Aayog, while economist Suman K. Bery continues as Vice Chairperson. The full-time members VK Saraswat, Professor Ramesh Chand, Dr. VK Paul, and Arvind Virmani—retain their positions.
  2. CEO Unchanged: Former Commerce Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam continues as the Chief Executive Officer.
