New Delhi: Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, has achieved another remarkable feat in the ICC tournaments. The star batsman of Team India broke the record of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for scoring the most runs by an Indian in ICC tournaments. Kohli has now gone ahead of Tendulkar in this prestigious list. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is in second place, but he is far behind Kohli.

Cricket fans were eagerly waiting for the first match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 between India and Australia. The two teams had played an ODI series before the World Cup, but the World Cup match was a different ball game altogether. Team India’s superstar chose such an occasion to showcase his skills in this match when the top three batsmen returned to the pavilion without scoring any runs.

Australia had a dismal performance with the bat and was bowled out for 199 runs by the Indian bowlers. Australia’s bowlers gave a tough fight to the Indian team chasing the target and dismissed the top three batsmen – Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer – for ducks. Kohli then took charge and batted according to his reputation. He not only rescued Team India from trouble but also broke the record for scoring the most runs in an ICC tournament.
