Bengaluru: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Thursday informed that it will launch 36 satellites of the United Kingdom’s global communications network ‘One Web’ by its heaviest launcher LVM3 or Launch Vehicle Mark III later this month. will be launched into space. This launch of 36 satellites under ‘OneWeb India-1 Mission/LVM3 M2’ will mark the entry of ISRO’s LVM3 into the global commercial launch service market. ISRO’s commercial arm ‘NewSpace India Limited’ has signed 2 service contracts with OneWeb to launch broadband communication satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO).

ISRO said in a tweet on Thursday that it will put 36 satellites of the company into low earth orbit by LVM3 from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh under its contract with OneWeb. With this launch, OneWeb will achieve over 70 percent of its ‘Gen 1 LEO Constellations’ plan. This project of the company is to provide high-speed connectivity service to the government, businesses, and common people.

ISRO shared details about the launch preparations on its Twitter handle, stating that the integration of the launch vehicle’s cryogenic upper stage and the payload fairing with 36 satellites will be completed in the coming days, making the project complete by the third of October. Or will be ready for launch by the fourth week. OneWeb is a global communications network operated by a group of 648 LEO satellites, headquartered in London. It was established in February 2019. Its aim is to provide connectivity everywhere around the world through a cluster of LEO satellites. Bharti Airtel is a major investor and shareholder of OneWeb.

Sunil Mittal, chairman of Bharti Airtel Enterprises, in his address at the launch of the Indian Space Association in October last year, said that we plan to start connectivity service in the country through One Web Satellite from the middle of 2022. He had said, ‘One Web will be the first customer who will start commercializing the Indian space market.’ Is. Mittal said, “I am sure that through ISpA more and more international customers will come to ISRO’s doorstep in Asia.” Our future is very bright. Prime Minister Modi is showing us the way. At present, there are 322 satellites in the space of One Web.
