New Delhi: The Central Government on Sunday issued an advisory to Indians living in Ukraine asking them to leave the country if it is not absolutely necessary to stay there. News agency ANI quoted the advisory of the central government, “In view of the ongoing tension in Ukraine, all Indian citizens who are not required to stay there and all Indian students are advised to leave Ukraine temporarily. . Indian students are advised to get in touch with the respective student contractors for updates on charter flights.”

This advice of the central government to Indian citizens has come amid the threat of Russia attacking Ukraine. About 20,000 Indians live in Ukraine, an Eastern European country, out of which about 18000 are students. Earlier on 16 February, the Indian Embassy in Kyiv has issued a similar advisory for its citizens in Ukraine. The Indian embassy had said in its advisory, “In view of the prevailing situation, Indian nationals, especially students who are not required to stay here, may consider temporarily leaving Ukraine.”
