Bengaluru: Indian Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria made his maiden flight on Friday in a Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). HAL said in a statement that the plane took off at 11.45 a.m. and remained in the sky for about an hour. The Chief of Air Staff was accompanied by HAL Deputy Chief Test Pilot, Wing Commander (Retd.) SP John. Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria thanked all the stakeholders of the LCH project and said, “It was a great flight. I was able to see the important flight characteristics and the condition of the sensors already installed. ‘

“I am confident that HAL will pay due attention to the fast-paced production process,” he said. According to the statement, HAL CMD R Madhavan thanked the Chief of Air Staff and said that HAL is ready for the process of production of LCH to meet all the needs of the Air Force.

At an event held in Bengaluru, RKS Bhadauria said that the corona virus epidemic has not affected the Air Force’s operational capability and readiness and the credit goes to the Armed Forces specialists and aerospace medicine specialists.

Two days earlier this week, Air Chief RKS Bhadauria flew in an Apache Attack helicopter. The Air Force Chief, who arrived on a two-day visit to the Air Force Airbase in the western part of the country on November 17 and 18, took stock of the Army’s preparations and met with the personnel at the base.
