New Delhi: If you do not have the Pollution Control Certificate (PUC) of the vehicle while driving, then you can be challenged. In the national capital Delhi, a fine of up to Rs 10,000 can be charged for this. Also, apart from revoking the license, there may be a situation of going to jail. Now the Delhi Transport Department is going to intensify the campaign against drivers who do not have PUC certificates. Under this, notices are being sent to lakhs of people.

At present, most vehicle owners get the pollution certificate made offline. One has to stand in long lines for this, but now it is not needed. Now even sitting at home, you can get a PUC certificate made online. Any government-authorized PUC center or Regional Transport Office (RTO) can issue a PUC certificate online. Here we are going to tell you some easy steps, by following which you can get the registration certificate.

First of all, take your car to the nearest PUC center to get checked. The PUC operator will inspect the exhaust pipe and determine the emission level of the vehicle. Pay the PUC center to start the service. After this, you go to the website of the transport service, where you can check the status of the PUC certificate online as well as download a copy of it.

Government sending notice
Talking about Delhi, the Delhi government has started sending notices to the vehicle owners about the air pollution caused by vehicles here. Notices are being sent to those vehicle owners who do not have a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate. At present, there are more than 17 lakh vehicles that do not have a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUC). These include 13 lakh bikes and about 3 lakh cars. According to a PTI report, about 14 lakh people have been sent notices through SMS by the government.
