New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a significant decision, appointing former World Cup-winning opener Gautam Gambhir as the head coach of Team India. Gambhir steps into this crucial role, replacing the legendary Rahul Dravid, who recently resigned after leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup.

In an official statement, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah expressed his enthusiasm: “I am extremely pleased to welcome Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. Gambhir, known for his exceptional batting prowess and strategic acumen, brings a wealth of experience to the table. As a former Indian opener, he played pivotal roles in crucial moments, including the 2007 ICC World T20 and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Additionally, Gambhir led the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. His recent stint as a mentor with KKR resulted in the team securing its third IPL title in 2024.
