GATE 2024 Results Announced: IISc Bengaluru Releases Scores for 6.8 Lakh Aspirants

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru has declared the results for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 today, March 16. Candidates who appeared for the exams on February 3, 4, 10, and 11 can now access their scores on the official website gate2024.iisc.ac.in. This year’s examination witnessed participation from approximately 6.8 lakh aspirants, marking a significant turnout for one of India’s most prestigious engineering assessments.

GATE 2024 maintained its rigorous evaluation process with a negative marking system penalizing incorrect responses. For multiple-choice questions (MCQs), one-third of the points were deducted for each incorrect one-mark answer and two-thirds for each incorrect two-mark answer. However, no marks were deducted for incorrect responses to numerical answer type (NAT) and multiple select questions (MSQs).

The GATE scores are a gateway to advanced education opportunities, enabling qualifiers to apply for master’s programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other leading technical institutions. Additionally, the results are a prerequisite for various public sector undertakings (PSUs) that recruit candidates for government positions based on their GATE performance.

Gate 2024 Results

The GATE 2024 was jointly organized by the IISc and seven IITs, under the aegis of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The exam also introduced new test papers and combinations, keeping up with the evolving academic and professional landscapes.
