Earlier, it was claimed by the Northern Alliance that about 350 Taliban fighters who came to attack in Khawak last night have been killed. According to a claim made by the Northern Alliance on Twitter, more than 40 Taliban fighters have also been captured. The Northern Alliance has got many American vehicles, weapons during this period.
A war is going on between the Taliban and the Northern Alliance since Monday to capture Panjshir. According to the latest report, Taliban fighters tried to infiltrate the Panjshir Valley on Tuesday night as well. The Taliban have also tried to block an escape route for Northern Alliance fighters by blowing up a bridge.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Vice President Amrullah Saleh said his resistance was to protect the rights of all Afghan citizens. Saleh tweeted, ‘This resistance is based in Panjshir. This is not just for Panjshir, but for entire Afghans. Today this valley is representing the whole country. Located 150 km north of Kabul, the Panjshir Valley is close to the Hindukush mountains. To the north, the Panjshir river separates it.
