New Delhi: The government has granted retiring employees till February 28 amid the Covid-19 epidemic (Covid-19). According to the 7th Pay Commission, pensioners will have to submit a life certificate till this day, not doing so may cause problems in the pension.

In fact, every year under the Employees Pension Scheme-1995 (EPS-95), pensioners are required to submit a life certificate or life certificate to their bank. Through this, proof of our survival has to be given. This does not create any hindrance in getting pension. Previously pensioners had to submit this certificate physically. However, now this work can also be done online. If the certificate is not submitted on time, the pension may stop.

Pensioners are required to submit a life certificate by 30 November every year. But due to Corona, its deadline was extended to December 31 from last year. Now again it has been increased to 28 February. There is no hope of moving the deadline now. That is, this is the last deadline to submit a life certificate.

Recently India Post Payments Bank has started digital life certificate submission service for pensioners. These initiatives will benefit about 67 lakh EPS pensioners, of which around 21 lakh are widow / widower, children and orphan pensioners.
