GURUGRAM: Nearly nine months after a portion of the roof of a building collapsed in Haryana’s Chintals Paradiso Society, Gurugram’s Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav said its Tower D would be demolished. A structural audit by experts from IIT Delhi found the tower to be unfit for use and has now been recommended for demolition. On February 10 this year, a part of the roof of the sixth floor of Tower D at Chintels Paradiso Society in Sector 109 of Gurugram collapsed. Two people died while half a dozen people were injured.

After this incident, keeping in mind the demand of the people of the society, the district administration got the structural audit of this tower done by the team of IIT Delhi. An IIT-Delhi investigation found that Tower D was not habitable and substandard materials were used in its construction. Samples of Tower E and Tower F of the society have also been taken, whose report will also be released soon. Now the Gurugram administration has issued orders to demolish Tower D. However, a detailed order regarding this will be issued on Monday. In which it has been told when and how the tower will be broken. There are more than 50 flats in Tower D of Chintels Paradiso Society.

Meanwhile, the Gurugram district administration issued an order to the builder to settle the claim of the allottees of Tower D or to pay them monetary compensation or give them a new flat within the stipulated time frame. Gurugram DC Nishant Kumar Yadav told the media persons that ‘we will pass an order to demolish Tower D of Chintals Paradiso Society in Sector-109 of Gurugram.’ Yadav further said that the IIT Delhi report states that in the building Chloride content was found to be high. He said that orders may also be given to demolishing the E and F towers. Because the balconies are getting weak and the floor looks bad. Yadav said that Tower D will be demolished on the lines of the Supertech Twin Towers of Noida. The Gurugram district administration is constantly in touch with the Noida Authority regarding this matter.
