Ashwin grabs second spot, Jadeja joins top 10 in ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings

Dubai: India’s Ravichandran Ashwin gained one place to reach the second spot while Ravindra Jadeja gained seven places to enter the top 10 in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings released on Wednesday. Joined the bowlers.

Jadeja managed to reach the ninth position after taking 10 wickets in the second Test against Australia in New Delhi. He has reached the top 10 for the first time since September 2019. Injured fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the other Indian bowler in the top 10, occupying the fifth position.

Veteran England fast bowler James Anderson continues to top the list but Australian skipper Pat Cummins has slipped two places to third. Akshar Patel has entered the top five in the all-rounder list, headed by Jadeja and Ashwin, thanks to his impressive batting.

Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne continues to top the list for Test batsmen followed by Steve Smith in second and Pakistan captain Babar Azam in third. India’s Rishabh Pant, who has been ruled out of cricket indefinitely after a car accident, has maintained his sixth position while skipper Rohit Sharma has retained his seventh position. England batsmen Ollie Pope (23rd), Harry Brook (31st), and Ben Duckett (38th), and New Zealanders Tom Blundell (11th) and Devon Conway (17th) have achieved career-best rankings.
