New Delhi: During the lockdown, liquor shops were closed across the country. After the relaxation of the lockdown, liquor sales were also allowed. However, liquor shops were closed again due to the huge crowd of people. After which liquor home delivery was started in some states.
In this episode, now e-commerce sites Amazon and BigBasket will also make home delivery of liquor. These companies have got permission for home delivery in West Bengal (West Bengal). In this regard, the West Bengal State Beverages Corp has issued a notice stating that the Amazon company has been found eligible for registration for home delivery of liquor. Apart from Amazon, Big Basket has also received approval for home delivery of liquor in West Bengal.
According to the report, Amazon has been invited to sign the MoU. However, there has been no official statement from Amazon and BigBasket regarding this. Explain that the liquor market in West Bengal is about 27.2 billion dollars. Prior to this, Swiggy and Zomato were also allowed to make home delivery of alcohol.
