Wind speed- According to the Meteorological Department, wind speed can be 100 to 120 kilometers per hour during this time. Alerts have been issued in several areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Fishermen have been advised not to go to sea.

Channai rains

Where did this storm reach: This storm is constantly moving forward when the Bay of Bengal rises. The storm is currently 410 kilometers south of Puducherry. While 450 kilometers southeast of Chennai. The storm will move in a north-westerly direction towards the coasts of Tamil Nadu

It has been raining in Chennai since yesterday, i.e. Monday evening. So far 71 mm of rain has been recorded there. Light rains are also falling in many parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, and Odisha.

NDRF Deployment: 6 teams of National Disaster Relief Force have already been deployed for relief and rescue operations in Tamil Nadu.

Centre’s eye: The National Disaster Management Committee, headed by Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, met on Monday. In addition to considering the measures taken in the wake of the storm, he directed the concerned state governments and many parties not to let anyone die in the affected areas and to restore normalcy as soon as possible.
