New Delhi: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who is in India for the G20 Summit, landed in Delhi on Friday and expressed his pride in being a Hindu. He was accompanied by his wife and greeted by Gen (Retd) VK Singh, the Minister of State for Civil Aviation. He told ANI that he hoped to visit a temple during his stay and make up for missing Janmashtami celebrations. He said that faith was important to him and gave him strength and flexibility.

He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he had great respect and affection for him. He said that they were both working hard to achieve a comprehensive and ambitious trade deal between India and the United Kingdom, which would benefit both countries. He said that he was eager to support Prime Minister Modi in making the G20 Summit a success for India.

The G20 Summit, hosted by India as the current chair, will take place in Delhi on September 9 and 10. The summit will address various global issues such as inclusive growth, digital innovation, climate resilience and equitable health access.
