Indore: Bharat Jodo Yatra led by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. As the countdown for Bharat Jodo Yatra to reach Madhya Pradesh begins, the police have identified the person who threatened to kill him and state Congress President Kamal Nath. And his search continues. A top police officer gave this information on Monday. According to the official, in a letter received by post on November 17 to a sweet-salty shop in the Juni Indore area, mention was made of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the gruesome bomb blasts at different places in Indore during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Along with this, Rahul and Kamal Nath were threatened with death.
Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra told reporters, “We have identified the person who sent this letter. We have also got his pictures. We are looking for him.” Without disclosing the identity of this person, he said that “information has been received about this person living like a nomad, that he makes complaints to his enemies in different districts of the province with fake names to implicate them in false cases.”.
Significantly, the Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter Madhya Pradesh from Burhanpur district on 23 November and reach Indore on 28 November. “We assure you that adequate security arrangements will be made in the city during this visit,” the police commissioner said.” Rahul and the people involved in this yatra have a night rest program on November 28 at the Khalsa Stadium in Indore, which witnessed a controversy involving Kamal Nath a few days back. However, Congress leaders have indicated that the night halt may be changed.
State Congress Secretary Neelabh Shukla said, “Chimanbagh Maidan and other places of Indore are also being considered for the night rest of the people involved in the yatra.” After the reception of Kamal Nath, famous kirtankar Manpreet Singh Kanpuri made a clear reference to the violence of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and expressed his displeasure with the organizers in sharp words from the stage.
Following the controversy, local leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have announced that if the Rahul-led “Bharat Jodo Yatra” When state Congress president Kamal Nath stepped into the stadium, BJP workers would oppose him by showing black flags. Kamal Nath’s role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots that broke out after the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was often alleged by BJP leaders. But Kamal Nath and other top Congress leaders have been rejecting it outright.
