Sikar: In a harrowing incident on the Churu-Salasar Highway in Fatehpur, Sikar, Rajasthan, a devastating road accident claimed the lives of seven individuals, including two children. On Sunday afternoon, at approximately 2:30 PM, a car, reportedly bearing a UP registration, collided with a cotton-laden truck while ascending the Ashirwad Bridge, just 200 meters from the summit.

The impact was so severe that both vehicles immediately burst into flames. Tragically, the occupants of the car, who were returning from the Salasar Balaji Temple and heading towards Hisar, were trapped inside as the inferno raged. Despite the rapid response of fire tenders from Fatehpur, Ramgarh, and Laxmangarh, which managed to extinguish the blaze within half an hour, it was too late for the car’s passengers.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Fatehpur Circle) Rampratap Bishnoi and Fatehpur Kotwali SHO Subhash Bijarania confirmed the heartbreaking outcome: all seven passengers, hailing from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, perished in the accident. The victims included Neelam Goyal, 55, her son Ashutosh Goyal, 35, Manju Bindal, 58, her son Hardik Bindal, 37, Hardik’s wife Swati Bindal, 32, and their two daughters, Diksha, aged seven, and her two-year-old sister.

Eyewitness Ramniwas Saini recounted the chilling moment when the car, attempting an overtake, struck the rear of the truck. He witnessed the desperate pleas for help from the car’s passengers but was powerless to assist due to the intense flames.

The authorities have since transported the bodies to the mortuary of Government Dhanuka Sub-District Hospital for post-mortem examinations. This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of high-speed driving and the importance of road safety measures.
