Unseasonal snowfall has damaged apple orchards and maize cultivation in the upper reaches of the Kashmir Valley, including parts of South Kashmir. Farmers say that they are completely dependent on apple orchards for their livelihood. Unfortunately, for the last four years, they have had to bear losses continuously. At the same time, maize cultivation has also suffered huge losses in many areas. Earlier, mustard cultivation was affected due to incessant rains in the plains of the valley. The farmers have demanded compensation from the administration for this.
