Indore: On the occasion of Ram temple foundation stone in Ayodhya on Wednesday, the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh has announced to distribute the offerings of about five lakh laddus from house to house in Saver assembly constituency of Indore district. By-elections are going to be held in this area reserved for scheduled castes. On the other hand, the main opposition Congress has demanded the administration to immediately stop this program of BJP inspired by electoral politics, citing the danger of spreading the Covid-19 transition from house to house.

BJP district unit president Rajesh Sonkar told reporters on Tuesday, “We will celebrate the foundation stone program of his grand temple at the birthplace of Lord Rama in Ayodhya as a festival.” Under this, about five lakh laddus will be distributed in the form of prasad in every house along with various religious events in 252 villages of Saver region. Sonkar claimed, “The specialty of the Laddoo distribution program will be that despite the involvement of every family in the Saver region, it will not violate the guidelines to protect against Covid-19 even as a rai seed.”

Significantly, the state’s Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat is believed to be getting a BJP ticket in the upcoming by-elections in the Samveer region, while former Lok Sabha MP Premchand Bourasi “Guddu” is a strong contender for candidacy from the Congress camp. In a fortnight, both Silva and Guddu have been infected by Coronavirus infection. Before being found infected, the two competing leaders were making intensive visits to the Samveer area in view of the upcoming by-elections. Meanwhile, targeting the BJP’s laddoo distribution program, state Congress spokesperson Neelabh Shukla said, “We have full faith in Lord Ram. But the BJP merely wants to play with the health of the people of Sanwar, ignoring the threat of Coronavirus infection, to shine its electoral politics. ” He said, “In view of this danger, we demand the district administration to immediately stop the BJP’s announced Laddoo distribution program.”
