New Delhi: On the input of a Central Intelligence Agency, freelance journalist Rajiv Sharma (Rajiv Sharma), who hails from Pitampura, was arrested on 14th. Initial investigation revealed that Rajiv Sharma was in touch with Chinese intelligence officers and was sending sensitive information from here. On his interrogation, a Chinese woman King Xi and her associate Nepali citizen Raj Bohra have also been arrested.
Rajiv Sharma has been doing journalism for 40 years. Since 2010, he was doing freelance journalism. At that time, Rajiv Sharma used to write an article from the Chinese agency Global Times. In 2016, Rajiv contacted a Chinese officer, Michael, through LinkedIn. Who invited them to China, where Sharma was lured to give information related to India’s defense, India-China border. After this, Rajiv gave Michael a lot of information from 2016 to 2018. In 2019, he got in touch with another Chinese officer, George. Meanwhile, their meetings were held in different countries Maldives, Thailand, Laos, Kathmandu. Where different tasking was done. After 2019, he kept in touch with George and kept sending information. Keep giving information related to the India-China border. For this, they have been receiving huge amount from hawala.
40-50 lakhs found in a year
A Chinese woman and a citizen of Nepal have formed a shell company here. In the name of MZ Mall and MZ Pharmaceutical in Mahipalpur, from which we have been exporting medicines to China. The money that comes in lieu of that is paid to such agent. It is being told that in a year, Rajiv Sharma got 40-45 lakh rupees. Police is currently interrogating Sharma. Laptops, 10-12 mobile phones, ATM cards have been recovered from Sharma.
According to the information so far, they used to move in the media circle properly. There was also a PIB card. There was access to the ministry. Formally, informal people used to meet people, they used to pass on whatever information they got.
All the social media account that Rajvi Sharma sent to China is on the mail. They are being downloaded. After that we will know what kind of information is given. Was there any rank of officer? This is still a matter of investigation. According to them, no direct connection has been found.
Rajiv Sharma started his journalism from 1981-82. Those from Delhi are educated. Here he has worked in many media institutions like UNI, HT, TOI, Tribune. On 14th, the house was searched with a search warrant. In which many confidential information has been found. This Chinese woman took admission in Jamia in 2013 for the course. It has been since then. From then on it remains to be seen. The company which has been formed by the other Chinese Nationals, while going to this company, went on to make him a director here.
