Mumbai: Preparations have been made to open the Samriddhi Expressway between Nagpur (Nagpur) and Mumbai (Mumbai) before Diwali. Vehicles will be able to run at a maximum speed of 120 km on the ready-made Samriddhi highway from Nagpur to Shirdi. For this, the traffic department of the state government has issued a notification.

It is noteworthy that Samridhi Highway is being constructed through MSRDC. The state government has planned to inaugurate the first phase between Nashik to Shirdi in the hands of PM Modi.

Made for 150 speed
The work of 701 km of Samridhi Expressway connecting the state’s sub-capital Nagpur to the country’s financial capital Mumbai is being done in 18 packages. According to MSRDC, this expressway has been constructed keeping in mind that vehicles can run at a speed of 150 km per hour. However, the state’s Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) issued a notification saying that the maximum speed of vehicles on the Samridhi Expressway will be 120 kmph in flat areas and 100 kmph in ghat areas. Apart from this, the maximum speed of freight vehicles has been fixed at 80 km.

Second phase by the end of the year
By the end of the year, 623 km of highway will be opened. About 25,000 vehicles per day are expected to run on this expressway in the first year. The Samridhi Highway will pass through 10 districts, 26 taluks, and 392 villages of the state.

Rickshaw-scooter ban
There will be a ban on the plying of three or four-wheeler rickshaws, and motorcycle scooters on the Samridhi Expressway.
