New Delhi: The Indian team defeated West Indies (IND vs WI 2nd ODI) by 44 runs in the second ODI of the series on Wednesday. With this victory, the host team also won the 3-match series. In this match played on Wednesday, India scored 237 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. The visiting team was all out for 193 runs in 46 overs. Young pacer Prasidh Krishna performed amazingly and took 4 wickets for just 12 runs in 9 overs. The third and final ODI match of the series will be played on Friday, February 11 at this ground in Ahmedabad.

Chasing the target of 238 runs at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, the initial 22 wickets of the Windies team fell to a score of 38 runs. Pacer famous Krishna caught opener Brendan King (18) behind the wicket at the hands of Pant. Then Darren Bravo (1) was bowled on the opening ball of the 10th over of the innings. He played 64 balls and scored 44 runs hitting 2 fours, 2 sixes. After this Fabian Allen and Akil Hussain added 42 runs for the 7th wicket. This partnership was broken by Mohammad Siraj and Allen (13) was caught by Pant. In the very next over, Akeel Hussain (34) was run by Shardul Thakur. Hussain hit 3 fours in 52 balls.

Odion Smith and Alzarri Joseph added 34 runs for the 9th wicket. Smith (24) was caught by Washington Sundar on the last ball of the 45th over at the hands of Kohli. Smith hit 1 four and 2 sixes in 20 balls. In the very next over, the famous Krishna dismissed Kemar Roach lbw, which ended the innings of the Windies team. Apart from Krishna, Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets for 42 runs for India, while Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sundar, and Deepak Hooda got 1-1 wickets.
