According to this guideline, if by mistake it is transferred to the wrong account, then the money can be refunded within 48 hours.

Never delete the message received on the smartphone after doing UPI and net banking. This message contains the PPBL number. This number is required to get a refund of money.

What is RBI’s new guideline?
According to the new guideline issued by RBI, it is the responsibility of the bank to refund your money within 48 hours. If banks do not help in getting the money back, then customers can complain at bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in. If money goes to the wrong account by mistake, then for this, a letter will have to be written and given to the bank. In this, you have to write the account number, the name of the account holder, and the account number in which the money has gone.

This is how you can take a refund from the bank

  1. After the money is transferred to the wrong account by mistake, first of all, call your bank and enter the PPBL number with all the information.
  2. After this go to the bank and register your complaint there.
  3. Write a letter to the Branch Manager.
  4. In this letter, write the account number in which the money has gone and also give information about the account number in which you want to send the money.
  5. It is very important to write the transaction reference number, date of transaction, amount, and IFSC code.

Take special care of these things while doing UPI, Netbanking
It is very important to be careful while doing UPI and net banking. While doing UPI, make sure that the name and account number of the person you are sending money to are correct. When doing UPI via QR code, ask the shopkeeper for their name and merge the two, making sure that the one to whom you are sending money is the correct account number. Do not rush while doing net banking. Save the message received after doing Net Banking and UPI.
