With this, you will be able to track and trace the cylinder.

Giving information, Indian Oil (IOCL) Chairman Shrikant Madhav Vaidya said that in the next 3 months all domestic gas cylinders will have QR codes. On the other hand, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that this is a revolutionary change as customers will also be able to track their LPG cylinders.

QR code will be posted on the new cylinder
Shrikant Madhav also told that through the QR code, customers will be able to get complete information about the cylinder. Like where has it been refilled and whether the safety tests related to the cylinder have been done or not. While this new QR code will be affixed through a label on the existing cylinder, it will be welded on the new cylinder.

On the other hand, 20 thousand LPG cylinders embedded with QR codes have been issued in the first phase under the unit code-based track.
