New Delhi: The government has banned 15 more Chinese apps in the country. These include apps such as photo editor AirBrush, video tool MeiPai and camera editor BoXxCAM. All these ban apps have disappeared from Google Play Store.

The government has also banned the Mi Browser Pro and CapCut that come with Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco smartphones. Significantly, CupCut is an app of BiteDance, a company owned by Tittock. Earlier, the government had banned the Mi Community app.

The government has banned apps such as photo editor apps AirBrush, Short Video, MeiPai and BoXxCAM, which belong to the Chinese company Meitu Company. This company also makes phones. The ban list also names the e-mail app NetEase, gaming app Heroes War and SlidePlus, created by QuVideo Inc of China. Baidu Search and Search Lite are also named in this list. All these apps have disappeared from the Google Play Store.

The government is investigating more than 200 apps that may face a ban in India. These apps include PubG created by Tencent, Zili created by Xiaomi, and AliExpress, an online shopping portal created by Alibaba Group.

Significantly, 59 Chinese apps were banned under the Information and Technology Act 69A due to the threat to the unity and sovereignty of the country, defense sector and security of the country from Chinese apps. After this, the government banned 47 apps last month.
