New Delhi: A fire erupted in four coaches of the Taj Express on Monday in the Sarita Vihar area of South-East Delhi. Swift action was taken as soon as the information was received, with six fire engines rushing to the scene to combat the flames. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties at this time.
An official from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) confirmed that they received a distress call regarding the fire in the Taj Express coaches at 4:24 pm. Eight fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the location to extinguish the flames, and efforts are underway to bring the situation under control. Thankfully, passengers appear to have evacuated safely, as they either moved to other coaches or disembarked.
DCP Railway provided additional details, stating that the Taj Express operates between Delhi and Agra. The fire was reported between the Tughlakabad and Okhla stations, prompting the train to come to a halt. Six fire engines were immediately dispatched to the spot. Thankfully, no injuries were reported due to the quick actions of passengers who either relocated within the train or exited safely.
