New Delhi: Under the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989, the Government of India has made the PUC (Under Pollution Control) certificate mandatory. Like registration certificate, driving license, and insurance policy, this PUC certificate is mandatory for all vehicles, be it a four-wheeler or two-wheeler.

PUC certificate is valid for vehicles older than one year. Any new vehicle is exempted from the pollution tests for one year. Failure to maintain PUC can attract a fine of Rs 10,000. Keeping in mind the importance of this document, we explain how to download the PUC certificate.

First of all, take your car to the nearest PUC center to get it checked. The PUC operator will inspect the exhaust pipe and determine the emission level of the vehicle. Pay the PUC center to start the service.
