New Delhi: A total of one thousand 377 exporters who have fraudulently claimed Integrated Goods and Service Tax (IGST) refund amounting to one thousand 875 crore rupees have been found untraceable at their principal place of business.
Source in the Finance Ministry said, the list of risky exporters also includes seven exporters accredited as star exporters. It said, as, on a date, seven thousand 516 exporters are in risky exporters list. Out of them, IGST refund worth one thousand 363 crore rupees is suspended in respect of two thousand 830 risky exporters. Adverse reports have been received in respect of two thousand 197 risky exporters. The exporters are identified as risky on the basis of specific risk indicators based on Customs, GST, Income Tax, and DGFT data.
