Islamabad: Ahead of the vote on the no-confidence motion, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan attended a massive rally in Islamabad. Here he made tremendous attacks on the opposition. Imran made it clear in the rally that he will not resign. He said, “When we complete five years, then the whole country will see that no government has increased Pakistan so fast. I came into politics for development. This is Pakistan. Made from one perspective, but trying to buy people here.” Imran said that he knows which foreign forces are helping the opposition to topple his government. However, he did not name any country in his entire speech.
A strong attack on opposition
Imran Khan, while targeting Bilawal Bhutto, Maryam Nawaz, and Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in gestures, said, “These three rats have been sucking the blood of the country together for thirty years. Their property is of dollars, not of rupees. All this drama. It is happening that somehow Imran Khan should give NRO on behalf of General Musharraf. There is an attempt to blackmail from day one. When the opportunity comes, try to bring down the government. General Musharraf committed atrocities on this community. To save the chair, he gave NRO to the thieves of this country. Taking a jibe at the opposition, Imran said, “If Maryam Bibi, who didn’t work for an hour in her life and has trembling legs, who didn’t know how to speak Urdu in 14 years. ‘Money coming from outside to topple our government’

Thousands of people gathered in the rally

This rally is being called Imran’s show of strength before the no-confidence motion is introduced. The Imran Khan government has requested Pakistan Railways to run special trains to bring its party workers from Lahore and other cities. Thousands of Khan’s supporters arrived in trains, public vehicles, and private cars to attend the ruling party’s historic rally. The caravan of Khan’s party arrived from Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and other cities and reached the parade ground to take part in the rally.
Significantly, Imran Khan is leading a coalition government. Khan’s allies are shunning him while nearly two dozen MPs from his party are revolting against him. Khan’s (69) party has 155 members in the 342-member National Assembly and will need the support of at least 172 MPs to remain in government.
The opposition has also tightened the waist
Apart from this, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), a coalition of opposition parties, is also going to hold a political program in Islamabad on Monday. The PDM consists of Jamiat-e-Islam Fazl and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. The PDM has decided to show its strength a day later which will coincide with the session of the National Assembly when the no-confidence motion is due to be formally moved in the House.
At the same time, another major protest march was started from Lahore on Saturday under the leadership of PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz and her close relative Hamza Shahbaz (Shahbaz Sharif’s daughter). It is scheduled to reach Islamabad on Monday via GT Road to attend the opposition rally. “This (March) will prove to be the last nail in the coffin of the Imran Khan-led government,” Maryam told her supporters.
